CORPORATE SOLICITOR JOBS NEWS - The general corporate Legal market having had a tough 2009/2010, has started to see some more activity in the general corporate market. Agreed that things are a long way from 2007 but, certainly there has been a steady demand for Corporate Lawyers. In fact, at the junior levels there is almost a lack of candidates entering Corporate due to reductions in 2009 qualifiers and also trainees having had a fairly quiet introduction during their seat, are not minded to qualify in to this area. In the general corporate area there has been some opportunity to get involved in restructurings, corporate recovery and insolvency work, although still not the anticipated demand due to limits on obtaining funding. The general M & A work has seen more activity, some mid-size firms are looking to make hires at the more experienced level and there is now some genuine movement in the transactional market. Also with mergers and hostile takeovers, the changing corporate market is now showing signs that firms are seeking to recruit again and strengthen their corporate teams.
